Fun with our border collie & our kitties!

Luath waiting for the frisbee

We have interesting animals now.  I’ve had many cats and dogs now -- and they have been a blessing.  Our border collie, Luath, is wonderful to play with and he loves to play.  In fact, he’d rather play than get hugs or even eat.  I’ve never had a dog who cared so little for hugs and things!  He’s even learned to come and snuggle with me in order to get me to play with him.

In the picture above, he is waiting for me to throw a frisbee for him.  It’s a bit hard to get a good picture of him because he moves so fast!  He does know stay, and I have taken some pictures of him in a stay, but they’re not nearly as good as when he is chasing a frisbee.  “Luath” means quick in Scots Gaelic and he lives up to the name -- it’s fun to watch him run!  I have a new camera now which can sometimes catch him in motion without blurring but it’s hard to take the picture while he’s still where you’re pointing -- and hard to anticipate where he’s going to be!

Our two kitties are Leia and Pepper.  Leia is a little grey female kitty who explores the entire neighborhood so much that some neighbors down the road called her the “mystery kitty”.  They figured she had a home but had no idea where.  Leia also follows me when I walk Luath all the way to the end of our street which is about a half a mile from our house.  On the other hand, Pepper, our big tom, hardly goes anywhere.  Our joke is that he doesn’t go more than six feet from the house though that’s not really true!

Sorry it’s been so long since I’ve blogged; I have also added some winter pictures and have a lot of spring photos as well...  I am planning another blog update Real Soon!  It has been hard as I have been more tired than usual lately; I’m not sure why, but it makes it very hard to get things done.  We took another trip to Tennessee and that really took a lot out of me.  There were times that coffee wasn’t keeping me awake and a lot of the rest of the time, I’ve been just a little less tired than that.
